Welcome to My blog. Today’s card for two Challenges Global Design Project #GDP264 and for
The Card Concept #142 Challenge. It’s always fun to play along with the Challenges.
This week challenge in Global Design project – CASE the Designer – Steffi Helmschrott. You can see her beautiful card below.
I used Stampin’ Up! Poppy Moments Dies, Painted Poppies Cling Stamp set and Timeless Tropical Oasis stamp set for the sentiment.

Here is my card,
I used the Sahara Sand A4 Cardstock as my base card followed by layering ( embossed Sahara Sand Cardstock, Whisper White and another layer of Whisper White. I stamped the leaves from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Fuzzy cut it, then stamp the co-ordinating ink on top of each leaves.
I love the leaves from the below picture.
I used the colours Night of Navy, Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry to sponge the Cardstock, I don’t want to see the perfect blending, I want the ink to look like a patch work on the card, next I splashed some water drops on the top, again I sponged to get the dark shade, it will look like a irregular patch work on the background.
Measurements in Metric:
- Base Card Sahara Sand A4 Card Stock : 27.8 cm by 10.5 cm ( Cut at half on 27.8 cm on side , scored and folded at half at 10.5 cm )
- First Layer Sahara Sand : 10.5 cm by 14. 9 cm
- Second Layer Whisper White : 10 cm by 14.4 cm
- Third Layer Whisper White : 9.7 cm cm by 14.1 cm ( 2 pieces – one for inside )
- Night of Navy – 10 cm by 14.4cm
- Scrap piece of Sahara Sand -for sentiment.
Measurements in Imperial: ( letter size cards )
- Base Card Sahara Sand 8.5 ” by 11″ (Cut at half on 5 .5″,scored and folded at half on 4 1/4″ )
- First Layer Sahara Sand : 4 1/4 ” by 5 1/2 ”
- Second Layer Whisper White: 4 ” by 5 1/4 “
- Third Layer Whisper White: 3 3/4 ” by 5 ” ( 2 pieces -1 for inside )
- Night of Navy – 4″ by 5 1/2″ ( inside )
- Scrap piece of Sahara Sand – for sentiment.
Then I splashed again with some Frost white on the background and attached all the die cut leaves to it using Stampin’ Dimensionals, next I used the linen thread to make 3 turns around the card and made a bow and again added White Polkadot ribbon which I coloured it slightly black using Sharpie and added on top as shown in the photo using glue dots.
I stamped the sentiment in Sahara Sand Cardstock using Versamark Ink pad , Stampin’ White Emboss Powder and used heat tool to melt the powder, Fuzzy cut it using paper snips and attached on top using stampin’ dimensionals.
I decorated inside of the card using the layers Night of Navy , Whisper White Cardstock with some scrap piece of Night of Navy.
